OUR ADOPTION BLOG

:: OUR START ::

Our story starts a long time ago when we met at a young age and became great friends. We grew up living just down the street from each other (we were actually even in the same ward). When we were 16 Jaymie asked Jesse to a Girls choice high school dance and from there it was history. We dated all through high school and into college. Jesse served a 2 year mission in Santiago, Chile and upon returning we started dating again and were shortly engaged thereafter. We have been married for almost 5 years now and have loved every minute of it together. We have had such a fun, energetic, adventurous amazing journey together and can't wait to take the next step, which is our dream to become parents.

:: JESSE ::

Jesse grew up in Northern Utah and is the youngest of 3 boys. Jesse loves adventure and getting outside. His favorite things to do are go backpacking, hiking, camping, fly fishing, play video games, photography, snowboarding, snowmobiling, scouting, softball, golf, biking, cooking in his dutch ovens, and taking care of his fish tank. Currently Jesse is attending Pharmacy School and has about a year left before graduating with his Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

:: JAYMIE ::

Jaymie also grew up in Northern Utah. She moved down the street from Jesse when she was 13 years old. She is #4 of 6 children. Her fondest memories of being a child were playing barbies with her sister, going on family trips and spending time with all of her extended family during the holidays. Jaymie was very active in gymnastics, soccer and skiing growing up. Now a days she loves to do creative things such as baking (she loves desserts), sewing, scrapbooking, home deco, any craft she can get her hands on. Her favorite thing to make is cute, tasty cupcakes. Jaymie loves to be outside, go swimming (or anything in the water), play sports, and go camping with her husband. Her favorite thing to do is to be with her hubby and considers him the man of her dreams : ) Jaymie can't wait for the day she can be a mother and spend her days caring for and raising a family.

All of them live in Northern Utah at the moment but they still talk on a regular basis and visit each other often. Jaymie can't say enough positive or great things about each individual in her family. She loves each one of them and have a great relationship with all of them. Her mom always says she doesn't feel like her son or daughter in-laws as in-laws but considers them her own sons and daughters. Grandma and Grandpa can't wait for more grandkids and are a huge part of all of thier lives. Jaymie truly feels blessed to have such an amazing family. One of Jaymie's nephews was actually adopted and the family has seen first hand the blessings and happiness that comes through the adoption process.

:: TOGETHER ::

Jesse and Jaymie love to do fun things together. Whether its finding somewhere new to visit and vacation, go grocery shopping, or just hanging out on the couch, they love to do it together. They both love to be outdoors and to be in the sun. They were married in the Logan Temple and are so greatful that they will be together forever with their family.

:: OUR MARRIAGE ::

Jaymie's thoughts on their marriage:

We have great communication with each other. We tell each other everything whether it be happy, sad,discouraging etc.. We are very honest with each other. Jesse and I are very similar which I believe is why we get along so well. Jesse is truly my best friend and has been for as long as I can remember. We make each other truly happy, and that is what I think is one of the most important aspects of marriage.

Jesse's thoughts on their marriage:

My wife and I have similar goals and interests in our lives. We both want an eternal family and to raise our children in the gospel in a home that can be a refuge from the problems and conflicts of the outside world. I believe my wife and I are great communicators with each other and often times know each other better than we even know ourselves. Probably the biggest challenge we've had in our marriage is that of not being able to get pregnant and have a baby of our own. We've been to many different doctors and gone through many medical procedures all unsuccessful. It has been quite the emotional roller coaster. I feel that we have dealt with this challenge the best we know how and are stronger because of this trying time in our lives. I couldn't have chosen a better spouse or mother to raise my children. Jaymie is the perfect wife, mother, and truely my best friend.

what lead us to
:: ADOPTION ::

Watching Jaymie's sister adopt their first child, we feel like we have been able to see the miracle of the adoption process first hand. As a family we were able to attend mulitple adoption classes with Jaymie's sister and her husband. In the classes we were able to learn about birth mothers, adoptive parents, and children that were placed in homes through adoption. We were able to learn about the feelings pertaining to adoption from both sides. We learned that adoption is another route for Heavenly Father to build eternal families and to bring large blessings to those families. Adoption requires great sacrifice and unselfishness on the part of the birth parents and open arms and endless love on the part of the adoptive couple. We've seen many close friends and relatives go through the adoption process throughout our lives and recognized that the Lord was preparing us for this experience all along. After coming to the realization that we wouldn't be able to have our own children, we turned to the adoption process and came to know that our Father in Heaven has a very special plan for our family. We are so excited to bring a child into our home and so greatful for the birthparents who will make this dream come true. We love you and hope that we can get to meet and know you better. Please feel free to contact us so you can get to know us better!
